Toluca Lake is a small community on the southeastern edge of the San Fernando Valley in the City of Los Angeles. The town of Toluca Lake sits between Burbank, North Hollywood and Universal City. It is an upscale community and is marked by tranquil neighborhoods just 12 miles north of downtown Los Angeles. Quiet, picturesque streets are surrounded by the Santa Monica Mountains.

Toluca Lake has been home to such movie stars as Bob Hope, W.C. Fields, Bing Crosby and Kirsten Dunst. It is home to the first International House of Pancakes restaurant and the original Bob's Big Boy restaurant. The lake itself is surrounded by the private Lakeside Golf Club.

Toluca Lake
Hidden Gem of the Valley
Toluca Lake is a gracious and genteel community with quiet, tree-lined
streets and spacious, elegant homes. Tucked between Burbank, North Hollywood and Universal City, it offers a secluded refuge amid the urban bustle. Dating back
to 1920s, the community has stately older homes as well as upscale newer
homes. Its commercial areas reflect that same ambiance, with Riverside Drive´s
trendy shops offering an unmatched shopping experience.
The area is attractive to the entertainment community because many studios
and production facilities are so close, including Disney/ABC, Universal and
NBC, Warner Brothers, ValCom and Empire Studios. It is only 12 miles from
downtown Los Angeles.

SOME THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT TOLUCA LAKE
· The swan is the symbol of Toluca Lake, and residents are called
Tolucans.
· The six-acre lake is hidden away beside the Lakeside Golf Club,
where Bob Hope and Bing Crosby once played.
· Many famous celebrities have lived here, in addition to Hope and
Crosby. They include Frank Sinatra, Mary Astor, W.C. Fields, Doris Day, Amelia
Earhart, and William Holden, who hosted the wedding reception for future
President Ronald Reagan and his bride Nancy at his home here in 1952. Holden was the best man.
· More recent celebrities to live here include Shia LaBeouf, George
Lopez, Kirsten Dunst, Zac Efron, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Hilary Duff and Steve
Carrell.
· Each Christmas Eve, the Magical Christmas Caroling Truck, a
tractor-trailer ablaze with lights, brings holiday songs and entertainment to the
neighborhood.
· The area is home to the oldest Bob´s Big Boy restaurant, now a
local landmark. The Riverside Drive restaurant still serves the Big Boy hamburger
and hosts a classic car rendezvous each Friday night.
· The first International House of Pancakes was located here. Today a
variety of restaurants and coffeehouses provide places to meet and eat.
· The community is very well educated, with most Tolucans having
attended college. A great majority of the residents are employed in white-collar
occupations and professions.
· Part of the City of Los Angeles, Toluca Lake is in Council District
