The Hollywood Hills comprises the hill neighborhoods north of West Hollywood and Hollywood proper and includes such areas as Benedict and Coldwater Canyons. Since the 1920s, a variety of homes have been built in the Hollywood Hills. The area includes Mulholland Drive, Laurel Canyon and Nichols Canyon.
